The Opportunity

Challenged with limited direct mail acquisition opportunities and an active donor file in decline, Lutheran Center for Religious Liberty was looking for ways to maximize revenue from existing donors. They knew they were just scratching the surface with digital marketing and wanted to fully leverage their spring matching gift challenge to activate more gifts.

 

The Solution

Meyer Partners implemented a multi-channel marketing strategy to support their matching gift challenge, beginning with direct mail to engage donors and fuel a significant volume of gifts. Digital channels were incorporated into the campaign, including email appeals to donors and subscribers, display ads and a ringless voicemail to prompt additional online gifts.

The Results

After both online gift count and revenue were down in the first quarter of the year, 44% more gifts were received online over this two-month period and 37% more revenue was generated. An email appeal and ringless voicemails were deployed the same day, raising 2.7x the revenue and generating 56% more gifts than the largest giving day during the matching gift campaign the previous year.
